We will ride in a group on a safe route along bike lanes from Luxembourg central train station to Kirchberg (passing through the city centre).

Morning ride (Train station to Kirchberg):

Evening ride (Kirchberg to train station):

Time: 17:30

Meeting point: on sidewalk in front of the Philharmonie on Ave. John F. Kennedy, Kirchberg

This will be a group ride from Strassen to Kirchberg (passing by the city centre) along calm roads and bike paths. The aim is to give people who live in Strassen and Belair the opportunity to try cycling to work and to see how quick and easy it really is! Each way will take about 30 minutes. Vel’oh bikes are available to rent near both meeting points.

Meeting point: on sidewalk near the Philharmonie on Ave. John F. Kennedy, Kirchberg

Learn the basics of maintaining and repairing your bike. This workshop will cover air pumps, adjusting brakes and gears, how to put your chain back on, how to clean your chain, and how to change your inner tube.

Time: 18:00

Meeting point: Next to the air-pump station and vel’oh station near the Fondation Pescatore bus stop.

This will be an easy group ride around Luxembourg to allow you to discover the city’s network of bike lanes.

We will start off by discussing basic traffic rules for cyclists and safe behaviour. We will then ride at a relaxed pace through the city, following bike paths almost exclusively. We will pass through the city centre, Kirchberg, Limpertsberg, Belair, Merl and Bonnevoie, where we will stop for a short coffee and discussion. Then we will finish back at the train station.

This ride is aimed at those who don’t have experience riding in the city, those new to Luxembourg, and/or those who feel a bit nervous about city cycling. Riding safely in a group on official bike lanes, you will have the opportunity to feel more comfortable riding in the city, and see how fun and easy it can be!

If you aren’t sure of how to get to the train station by bike, a good option is to take your bike with you on the bus (when not too busy) or the train.

If you don’t have your own bike, arrive a bit early to rent a vel’oh from the train station.
