Luxembourg City recently launched a new initiative: the first Sunday of every month the shops are open all afternoon and a flea market (vide-grenier) is held in the centre. Today was the second event in the 2013 season, being the first Sunday of May, and it was absolutely beautiful weather!

This month’s flea market was at Place des Martyrs

A perfect day for leisurely cycling into town, enjoying the nearly car-free streets, visiting the flea market and shops, and then stopping for a cold drink in the shade.

The next flea market/Sunday shopping day will be June 2nd, 2013. As a note, anyone can rent a table in the flea market for €5, so it’s a good opportunity to get rid of extra furniture/toys/bikes/etc.
